Half-Breeds

In this tutorial you will learn how to make any genetics file into a Half-Breed. You should have read the Slot tutorial first.
Important Note: Make sure you hav a .gno file (any one will do) with the same name in the same folder as the .gen file. If you don't, you won't have the comments in the last column.

In the slot tutorial, you learnt how Sprites are named. In order to make a HalfBreed it's a little easier. All you need to know is the genus (Norn, Grendel, Ettin, Shee) & Slot of the sprites you want to use. Note that the genus refers to the slot group is on, not if it actually is a Norn. Check the BreedList for help on this. So for Bruin Norns, I need to know that they are installed on Norn Slot A. Simple as that. Make sure that you know these details for each breed you want to use in your Half-Breed.
Now you need to open GeneLabs (download it from the Developer's Section if you haven't already) and open the genetics file that you want.

You now need to find the Five appearance genes, like the one in the picture above. Usually, they are genes: 25, 74, 113, 365 & 444.
Each one corresponds to the five different Body Parts (Head, Body, Arms, Legs & Tail). We can see that the one in the picture is for the head. double click that gene. You should notice that the other two windows will change.

Look at the picture above.
DON'T play with the Body Part Gene. Just change the "Genus" to whatever slot group you want, and the breed to the Letter of the breed whose sprites you want to use. Once you have done that YOU MUST click the tick in this window to save this gene, otherwise your changes will be lost.

Once you have done all five genes, you need to save the whole file.
Click file then either "Save" or "Save As". If you click save, you will no longer have the original genetics file that you started with, so be careful. You can now close GeneLabs! To use your new Half-Breed in game, make an Egg Agent using those genetics. It's as simple as that.
Congratulations! You've made your first Half-Breed!
